Curling at the 21st Winter Olympic Games 2010

Curling is an interesting team game that has a number of ways and methods which are in similarity with shuffleboard and bowls. This game is generally played by two teams comprising of four players. Both the teams are placed on a rectangular sheet of ice that is prepared with a lot of care and precision. By turn each of the teams goes for sliding with profound polished granite stones all the way through the ice aiming at the target which is called the house. There are two sweepers holding brooms who accompany each of the bricks. They make use of a combination of their judgment and intuition along with a timing gadget to direct the stone straight into the house. Meanwhile the other team mates are supposed to provide the idea of the right direction. The game of Curling is often referred to as the “chess on ice” also.
