The Skeleton Event at the Vancouver Winter Olympics

The Skeleton is a particular sport that came into being from the popular spin off that belongs to the traditional British game of Cresta Sledding. This game was originally played in the St. Moritz region in Switzerland. However, though both the Cresta riders and the Skeleton sliders make use of similar tools in the game, yet the two sports have emerged to be a lot diverse from each other. Hence in the contemporary scenario spectators are requested not to confuse between the Cresta sledding and Skeleton sport.

The game of Skeleton can easily share its tracks with lugers and bobsleighers. For partaking in Skeleton the players cannot make use of any braking mechanism or any other process that enables steering. On the other hand, in case of Cresta sledding, the game has to be characterized in particular Cresta sledding tracks only. Moreover, in this game the skates that the players place on their feet come in handy for both braking and steering the sled.
